Secure a shiny Manaphy from a Pokémon Ranger game
Shiny (Ranger Egg)
Why this matters
A Shiny Manaphy with historical Ranger origin comes from a one-time Ranger Egg that was traded to another Generation IV save before hatching. The localized mission in the first Ranger game is included on the cartridge and can still be unlocked by password; the two sequels require a mission downloaded earlier. The modern HOME reward does not replace this Ranger Egg provenance.
Acquisition
Still available
In a localized copy of the first Pokémon Ranger, unlock the included Manaphy mission with the known region-specific password, or use an already-downloaded mission in a sequel. Send the one-time Egg to a Generation IV game, trade it to a different save before hatching, and hunt the Shiny result there.
Requirements
Nintendo DS system with an unused Pokémon Ranger cartridge or an already-downloaded Ranger Net mission · For the historical Shiny method: a second Generation IV save for trading the Egg before it hatches · Nintendo 3DS family system · Pokémon Ranger; alternatively, an already-downloaded Manaphy mission in Shadows of Almia or Guardian Signs · Compatible Generation IV game, Generation V game, Poké Transporter, Pokémon Bank, and Pokémon HOME
Transfer path
- Pokémon Ranger (one Manaphy Egg per cartridge)
- Generation IV receiving game → trade the Egg to another save before hatching
- Poké Transfer into a Generation V game
- Poké Transporter
- Pokémon Bank
- Pokémon HOME
Modern alternative
A shiny Manaphy is now also available as a Pokémon HOME Mystery Gift for completing the Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl Sinnoh Pokédex. This modern reward does not replace the historical Ranger Egg origin.
